MVM#3 ALEXANDER MCQUEEN EXPRESS ME A FEELING CHALLENGE

For this challenge, I am inspired by the collection "The Horn of Plenty" by Alexander McQueen.

The colors used were white, black and red.

The floor of the podium is composed of broken mirrors, central throne an enormous waste pile, decor remnants of previous shows. (I used a photo of this parade as background).

Clothes pastiche of French elegance: the tweed suits bent, exaggerated crinolines, impossible heels.

"The Horn of Plenty" is a parade of women chained to bags giant crocodile, muffled in robes with red snake patterns, home, women head imprisoned in cages, the body caught in a metal trap, face distorted with jewels that come prick.

With hindsight, the thorns that crown its best women we see that in fact constitute a defensive system. And that his podium martyrs are in fact war dogs, women willing to confrontation, especially not nunuches and romantic. A woman far from innocence, which suffered the worst indignities, who saw death in the face but got up and against attack. When critics decried these horrors, his supporters retorted that yes, this was violent but well cut.

Through this challenge I wanted to show that we are all subject to social conventions. In society we wear a mask, we must not let see that we are not going good, real emotions are hidden. Today I am EXTREMELY sad because my country has been hard hit by the terrorist attacks.

In the portrait I used the unmasked laying DelMay I wanted expressed the fact that if we remove all the social mask, we would ourselves last, free at last.
